Secondary | Our Methods of Instruction
Our instruction, while fully responsive to the demands of the modern world, follows methods that are tried and true. The limited number of students in each class allows the teacher to determine the level of each and to offer him or her a programme of instruction that takes account of individual strengths and weaknesses. The student, for his or her part, must be committed to the hard work that is a precondition of steady progress. Students are regularly tested in the various subjects, and the diligent completion of daily homework assignments is indispensable for success. Homework assignments will not generally require more than one hour of serious work each day. Careful organisation will generally allow students to limit the amount of time they need to devote to homework and to test preparation. At the end of each term formal examinations, written or oral, assess the student's cumulative learning in each subject. Our goal is not to make our students' lives unpleasant, but to evaluate their progress and to prepare them for the numerous academic hurdles that they will face in the course of their further studies. |
